Spoon Benders Melt Minds at Polaris Hall – 4/28/25

On Monday night, Polaris Hall was bursting at the seams with sweaty energy and anticipation as a packed house gathered for the West Coast leg of Teen Mortgage’s tour. But it was Spoon Benders who cracked the night wide open with a set that felt less like an opener and more like a co-headlining act on a mission.

From the first fuzzed-out riff to the last crash of the drums, Spoon Benders lit up the room with raw, psychedelic punk fury. The Portland-based band was clearly on home turf and fed off the electric energy in the crowd, who showed up early and loud. Their set was tight, gritty, and beautifully chaotic—the kind of performance where you can feel the sound in your chest and your teeth.

Spoon Benders’ set felt like a wild joyride through a desert storm—unapologetically loud, weird, and totally hypnotic. They held the room in a trance, then left us reeling and ready for more. And judging by the cheers and shoulder-to-shoulder crowd, they gained more than a few new diehard fans that night.

Teen Mortgage may have been the headliner, but Spoon Benders made damn sure nobody would forget who lit the match.

Catch them opening up for Forty Feet Tall @ Mississippi Studios on 6/13/2025
