Hey, I’m Megan — the ears, eyes, lens behind Stumptown Static.

I started this publication because Portland’s music scene deserves more than fleeting Instagram stories and blurry phone footage. It deserves someone who shows up, leans in, and documents the magic — the grit, the sweat, the feedback, the weird. Whether it’s a packed-out show at Mississippi Studios, a smoky basement set in SE, or an opener you’ve never heard of who completely steals the night, I’m there with camera in hand and ears ringing.

I’m a photographer and lifelong music obsessive. My work blends candid energy with dreamy textures — a little grain, a little chaos, a lot of heart. Stumptown Static is my love letter to the bands making noise and the city that hums beneath it all.

This isn’t about clout or coverage quotas. It’s about showing up for the sound.

hello.
