Foxy Shazam Set Polaris Hall on Fire – 5/6/25

WOW. What a show.

On May 6, Foxy Shazam took over Polaris Hall in Portland—and I mean took over. Hands down, this was one of the most wildly entertaining live performances I’ve ever witnessed. Every single member of the band was bursting with energy from the moment they hit the stage to the final, chaotic note.

Frontman Eric Nally is a full-blown force of nature. He didn’t just sing—he exploded. At any given moment, he was bouncing across the stage, climbing up on the drums, flipping across the floor, eating cigarettes (yes, eating), or launching himself into the crowd. It was impossible to look away. His theatrical energy gave the night a kind of electric unpredictability, and the crowd was absolutely here for it.

And the madness didn’t stop with the music. Foxy Shazam is currently touring with Hot Fix Sideshow, a traveling group of circus performers who took short breaks between songs to swallow swords, staple dollar bills to their bodies (with help from willing audience members!), and push the whole night into full-blown spectacle territory. It felt like a collision of Rocky Horror, Queen, and an underground circus—but somehow bigger and wilder than all three.

As someone who had never seen them live before, I walked away a full-blown fan. Their charisma, musicianship, and fearless showmanship make for an experience you can’t just listen to—you have to feel it in person. I was beyond honored to photograph their set and capture a piece of that magic.

If they’re coming through your city next, do not miss it. Foxy Shazam is a must-see.
