Last Wednesday night was a movie! A movie narrated by one of the funniest musicians today. Kyle Gordon did not waste a single minute as he took the audience through an odyssey of musical history filled with absurdity, raunch, and no shortage of bad men doing bad things. All backed by the brilliant Mojohand (who also opened for him). What a night!
The performance explicitly supports his third studio album, Kyle Gordon is Everywhere, which dropped on October 2, 2026, via BMG. Framed like a satirical musicology lecture course, the sprawling autumn trek tracks a "history of popular music" that spans an incredibly wide, nostalgic landscape of genres from the last half-century. Complete with frantic, mid-show costume changes to embody different musical eras, Gordon transitions rapidly through a massive cast of flamboyant characters. The performance relies on pitch-perfect parody, pulling inspiration from the fictional narrative of the album, which features actor Daniel Radcliffe as a guest narrator bridging the gaps between tracks. The material covers everything from 1950s rockabilly tropes to heavy mid-2000s alt-rock angst, culminating in his massive 90s Eurodance viral hit "Planet of the Bass."
Mojohand opened up for Kyle Gordon this past Wednesday at McMenamin's Mission Theater. Their mission statement: to bring us back to good old-fashioned rock and roll. And boy are they a good time. Hire them for your wedding!
Hailing from Brooklyn, the four-piece outfit Elijah Klein, Joe Dinardo, Ian D'Arcy, and Jasper Mahncke has spent nearly a decade grinding on the road, developing a tight, road-worn chemistry.
They deliver exactly that by blending a raw rock foundation with what they call "ginger soul" and a distinct slice of Jersey twang. The band has built an impressive independent catalog over the years, including their live-to-tape album Dungarees and their brand-new late-2026 release, Mojohand’s Bar & Grill. On this massive 30-city tour, they pull demanding double duty not only playing an opening set of their own original music but also staying on stage to act as the live backing band and versatile musical anchor for Gordon's multi-genre comedy sets.
